Tyre fitting on rims in Helsinki
We fit tyres on rims, balance the wheels and, if needed, fit the finished set of wheels on the car. The service suits you, for example, when you have bought new summer or winter tyres for your current rims or when you only have one set of rims and the other season’s tyres need to be changed onto them.

Basic hub cleaning
+10 €/ set
The mounting surfaces of the hubs and rims are cleaned of corrosion and flaking paint so that the rim sits evenly against the hub. Always agreed in advance.
Deep cleaning of adhesive residue
+20 €/ set
Recommended for valuable rims: adhesive residue from old weights is removed completely with a special machine. Normal cleaning of the adhesive where the new weight goes is always included in the price.
Rubber valve replacement and seat cleaning
+5 € / 10 €/ wheel / set
A new rubber valve and an inspection and cleaning of the rim surface underneath it. We do it when the mechanic notices the valve is faulty, or at your request. Does not apply to wheels with TPMS sensors: repairs to their valves are agreed separately.
Prices include VAT at 25.5%.
New tyres
You can order new tyres from us or bring tyres you have bought yourself – we fit them on the rims and on the car.

We order new tyres individually, straight from the wholesaler’s warehouse. We do not keep our own tyre stock, so you never get tyres with an old production year – you always get fresh tyres.

The size is marked on the sidewall of the tyre, for example:

We are an official fitting partner of 1001renkaat.com and Grip500.fi. When ordering, choose Primpex Autohuolto, Hämeentie 103 as the delivery point – the tyres are shipped straight to us and you only bring the car.
Fitting 79 € / 4 tyres (up to 18″) and 99 € / 4 tyres (19″ and larger, SUV) – incl. balancing, mounting on the car and recycling of the old tyres.
What does the work include?
This is how new tyres are fitted on the rims.

Removal
The old tyres are removed from the rims.

Fitting
The new tyres are fitted in their place. Standard rubber valves are replaced if needed.

Washing
The wheels are washed and the old balancing weights are removed.

Balancing
The wheels are balanced and new weights are fitted. The tyre pressures are set to the correct level.

Mounting on the car
With the full service, the finished wheels are fitted on the car and tightened to the correct torque.
Rim condition and mounting surfaces
During tyre work we pay attention to the rim surfaces that matter for fitting the tyre correctly and keeping it airtight.
What we check
- the mounting surface between the rim and the hub – if it is heavily soiled, rusted or the paint is flaking, the mechanic may recommend extra cleaning and treatment with a dedicated tool
- the sealing surface between the tyre and the rim – corrosion, dirt or flaking paint where the tyre bead sits can cause poor sealing and a slow loss of air pressure
- the area around the valve – corrosion or flaking paint can cause an air leak
Damage to rims and tyres
- a bent rim
- damage to the tyre bead
- heavy corrosion, a crack or another problem
Not every fault can be seen in advance. If the condition of the rim or tyre prevents the work from being done properly, we let you know and agree on further steps if needed.
Extra cleaning and treatment are not included in the basic price of the tyre work but are agreed separately with the customer.
Valves and air leaks after tyre work
The mechanic checks the valve during every tyre job and replaces it if they see a need. We do not replace intact valves automatically – which is why the price of the tyre work does not include an unnecessary replacement of four valves for every customer.
- the rim surface under a fitted valve cannot be checked without removing the valve
- a valve can look intact even though there is already corrosion or blistered paint underneath it
- in Finland road salt damages the rim coating, and the damage is not always visible during tyre fitting alone
- rubber valve replacement – to replace a faulty one or at your request – 5 € / wheel or 10 € / set; we check and clean the surface underneath it
Replacing the valve does not guarantee that the rim will not leak elsewhere: checking the valve area is not an inspection of the whole rim surface.
If a wheel starts to leak
We find the cause first
The valve was replacedIf the leak is because the surface was not cleaned properly or the valve was fitted incorrectly, we fix it free of charge under warranty.

The valve was not replacedIf hidden corrosion or blistered paint is found underneath it, it is a rim fault that could not be seen without removing the valve. We show you the cause and agree on the repair.
Hidden rim fault – 50%We do the repeat work – removing the wheel, dismounting the tyre, cleaning, a new valve, refitting and balancing – at 50% of the price. The price is agreed before the repair.
TPMS tyre pressure sensors
TPMS sensor replacement, fitting and coding are separate services and are not automatically included in the price of normal tyre work.

We have universal TPMS sensors available that can be fitted in place of a faulty sensor and programmed to suit the car.

Frequently asked questions
Can I leave my old tyres with you?
Yes. You can leave your old tyres with us for recycling after the change. The recycling fee is included in the price of the tyre work, so recycling is not charged separately.
Are the valves replaced?
We replace the rubber valve if the mechanic sees during the tyre work that it is faulty – we do not replace intact valves automatically. You can also order the replacement in advance, in which case the surface under the valve is checked and cleaned. In both cases the replacement costs 5 € / wheel or 10 € / set.
A wheel leaks at the valve after tyre work – is it covered by the warranty?
Bring the wheel in for inspection: we first find the exact location and cause of the leak and show it to you. We fix an error in our work free of charge under warranty.
If the cause is a hidden rim fault under a valve that was not replaced, it is a rim repair. We do the repeat work at 50% of the price, and the price is agreed before the repair.
Are the tyre pressure sensors (TPMS) checked?
During a normal tyre change on rims we do not separately check the TPMS sensors for leaks – we fit the new tyres as usual.
If a wheel is leaking and that is why you come in, we also check the sensor for leaks. We have repair kits in stock for different sensors; sensor repairs are agreed and priced separately.
Are the wheels also fitted on the car?
If you order the full service, the finished wheels are fitted on the car and the wheel bolts or nuts are tightened to the correct torque: 79 € / 4 wheels, 19″ and larger / SUV / 4×4 / more demanding wheels 99 € / 4 wheels.
