Wheel balancing in Helsinki
We balance the wheels of passenger cars and small vans. Balancing is worth doing when you feel vibration while driving, the tyres have been replaced with new ones or a tyre has been repaired – or if a balancing weight may have come off.

Extra work when needed
Basic hub cleaning
+10 €/ set (4 wheels)
Cleaning corrosion and flaking paint off the mounting surfaces of the hubs and rims so that the rim sits evenly against the hub.
Deep cleaning of adhesive residue
+20 €/ set (4 wheels)
Recommended for valuable rims: adhesive residue from old weights is removed completely with a special machine. Normal cleaning of the adhesive where the new weight goes is always included in the price.
The prices apply to passenger cars and standard-size wheels (up to 18″).The price may differ for unusual cars and large or special wheels. These include, for example, 19″ and larger rims, commercial vehicle wheels, SUV wheels and chrome or tuning rims.
Prices include VAT at 25.5%.
How balancing is done
Five steps – an accurate result starts with a clean wheel.

Washing
The wheel is washed to remove dirt, snow and other contaminants from the rim.

Old weights off
The old balancing weights are removed and the adhesive is cleaned where the new weight goes.

Measurement
The wheel is mounted on the balancing machine and the imbalance is measured.

New weights
Based on the measurement, new weights are attached to the rim.

Check
The wheel is spun on the machine once more to make sure the result is right.
Why is washing important? Dirt stuck to the rim can itself cause significant imbalance. In winter this is even more noticeable: if snow or ice sticks to only one side of the rim, strong vibration can occur from about 60 km/h, even if the tyre and rim are otherwise fine.
When does balancing not solve the problem?
Vibration is not always caused by wheel imbalance. If the vibration continues after proper balancing, the car needs further inspection.
Other possible causes of vibration
- a bent rim
- a damaged or unevenly worn tyre
- wheel run-out
- play in the suspension
- a wheel bearing fault or another technical problem
The rim mounting surface against the hub
- if the surface has corrosion, flaking paint or heavy dirt, the rim may not sit evenly against the hub
- the mechanic may recommend cleaning and grinding the surface with a special tool before fitting the wheel
- cleaning costs 10 € / set and is always agreed in advance

We give a 14-day guarantee on the wheel balancing we do.
What the guarantee covers
If you still feel vibration while driving within 14 days or doubt that the balancing was successful, bring the wheels back for a re-check. If the cause is our balancing, we fix it free of charge.
What the guarantee does not cover
The guarantee covers the quality of our balancing. It does not cover vibration caused by other reasons – for example a bent rim, a damaged or unevenly worn tyre, a suspension or wheel bearing fault, dirt, snow or ice stuck to the rim, or a balancing weight that has come off.
The guarantee does not limit our liability. The 14-day guarantee is an additional benefit for the customer. If the work was done incorrectly, we are responsible for it under the Consumer Protection Act even after the guarantee period.

Do large or special rims cost more?
The prices of 40 € and 60 € apply to passenger cars and rims up to 18″. If the rims are 19″ or larger, the wheels belong to a commercial vehicle or SUV, or the rims are chrome or tuned, the price may differ depending on how demanding the work is.
