Warranty and liability for defects

We are responsible for the quality of our work and for defects in parts supplied through us in accordance with our warranty terms, any manufacturer and supplier warranties and the applicable legislation. If a fault appears after a repair that may be related to our work, bring the car to us for inspection – we first find the cause and then establish whether it is covered by the warranty.

12-month or 15,000 km warranty on workWhichever comes first. The warranty is an additional benefit – it does not limit your statutory rights as a consumer.
  • Work warranty 12 months / 15,000 km
  • Parts warranty depends on the part
  • Alignment and balancing 14 days
  • Does not limit liability for defects

Work warranty

The warranty covers the quality of the work and cases where the fault is caused by an error in our fitting or repair work.

  • If the fault is covered by the warranty, the corrective work is done at no extra charge.
  • If the fault is not related to work we did earlier, further diagnostics and repairs are agreed separately.
  • The end of the warranty period does not automatically remove statutory liability for defects.
  • With the customer’s own parts, we are responsible for the quality of the fitting work, but not for the quality, compatibility or service life of the part.

If a fault appears

What to do in a warranty case

1. Contact us before having it repaired elsewhereTell us the registration number, when the repair was done and a short description of the problem.
2. Bring the car in for inspectionWe must be given the opportunity to inspect the car and find the original cause of the fault. A car that has been dismantled or repaired elsewhere makes the assessment much more difficult.
3. We find the causeA fault that is genuinely covered by the warranty is not charged. If the fault is clearly due to another cause, the next steps are agreed separately.

Parts warranty

Parts supplied and fitted by us may come with a warranty from the manufacturer, importer or supplier. The length and terms of the warranty always depend on the part in question.

  • For many parts the warranty period can be up to 12 months / 100,000 km – this does not automatically apply to all parts.
  • For example, manufacturers of shock absorbers and timing kits may have their own terms, which can also be shorter.
  • Wear parts such as filters, brake pads and wiper blades are not covered by the general warranty period – their service life depends on driving style and conditions.
  • For a part from a quality manufacturer, the supplier may in some cases grant a warranty even after 12 months – this is assessed case by case.
  • In a warranty case we check the terms that apply to the part and deal with the supplier if needed.

No warranty on the partWe cannot give a warranty on the quality, compatibility, correct choice or service life of a part supplied by the customer.
Repeat workIf the part turns out to be faulty or unsuitable and the same job has to be done again, the new work may be charged separately.

Service-specific warranty terms

Warranty on brake work

Fitting and repair work we do on the braking system is covered by the work warranty. Brake pads and discs are wear parts: how fast they wear depends on driving style, operating conditions and the condition of the braking system. Normal wear is not a warranty matter.

After new discs and pads are fitted, they need bedding in, and a slight or occasional noise can be normal during that time. If the noise becomes constant, there is vibration when braking or one wheel gets unusually hot, bring the car in for inspection – we will find the cause first.

A repair can also reveal a fault that was hidden before: for example, an old brake caliper may start to stick once its piston has been pushed back to fit new pads. Vibration felt when braking is also not always caused by the discs – the cause may be in the hub, the wheel or the suspension.

Four-wheel alignment warranty – 14 days

After the alignment you receive a measurement report. If within 14 days there is reason to suspect that the wheel angles are not right, you can bring the car back for a re-check.

The warranty covers the adjustment we made. It does not cover cases where the wheel angles have changed because of play or a fault in the suspension or steering, an impact on a wheel, hitting a kerb, a suspension or steering part replaced later, or another external cause. Wheel balancing warranty – 14 days

If vibration continues while driving or there is reason to suspect the balancing is incorrect, you can bring the wheels back for a re-check. If the problem is due to the quality of our balancing, we correct it at no extra charge.

When balancing, the wheel is washed, the old weights are removed and the wheel is balanced again. Dirt, snow or ice stuck to the inside of the rim can itself cause significant imbalance – in winter, snow packed on the inner side of the rim can cause strong vibration from about 60 km/h.

Balancing does not remove every cause of vibration: a bent rim, a damaged or unevenly worn tyre, or play in a wheel bearing or the suspension. The warranty does not cover new imbalance caused by an external reason after the work. If the hub mounting surface is in poor condition, we may recommend cleaning it – this extra work is not included in the price of standard balancing. Read more about wheel balancing →

Tyre repair warranty

Quick repair with a plug strip – about 15 €. A quick and inexpensive way to stop a leak. We consider it a temporary solution and give no warranty on how long the repair stays airtight. Suitable, for example, for an old tyre that is going to be replaced anyway.

Professional internal patch – 60 €. The tyre is removed from the rim, the damage is inspected from the inside and repaired with an internal patch. We give a warranty on the airtightness of a correctly made internal repair.

Not all damage can be repaired properly: if the damage is too close to the sidewall or in the shoulder area, or the tyre carcass is damaged, we recommend replacing the tyre.

What is usually not covered by the warranty?
  • normal wear of parts and consumables
  • faults not related to the repair we carried out
  • damage caused by an accident, impact, hitting a kerb or another external event
  • damage to a new part as a result of another fault in the car
  • the quality, compatibility or service life of a part supplied by the customer
  • repeat work caused by a faulty or unsuitable part supplied by the customer
  • changes in wheel angles after an alignment due to a suspension or steering fault, repair or external impact
  • new imbalance caused by an external reason after balancing
  • the long-term airtightness of a temporary tyre repair made with a plug strip
Warranty and statutory liability for defects

The warranty is an additional benefit for the customer. Our warranty terms do not limit the rights consumers have under Finnish law or our statutory liability for defects. The end of the warranty period therefore does not automatically mean that liability for a defect in goods or services ends at the same time – where necessary, liability is assessed under the Consumer Protection Act.

Urgent situation – the car cannot be driven

If the car cannot be driven or driving it could cause further damage, we recommend contacting us before having it repaired elsewhere whenever this is practically possible. That way the original cause of the fault and the responsibility can be assessed reliably.
